I want to forget it all: Sania, daughter of Congolese national Cynthia
Hyderabad: “I want to forget all what has happened and I just want to continue my studies,” eight-year-old Sania, daughter of Congolese national Cynthia said.
Sania’s future remains unclear as her father, Rupesh, stands accused of murdering the mother.
On Tuesday, members of the Child Welfare Committee spoke to the girl asking who she wanted to stay with. The Committee also allowed relatives from both sides to spend time with the girl. Meanwhile, the Court has permitted police to collect Sania’s blood for DNA sampling.
Sania is now placed at the Kasturba Home at Hydershakote. The CWC added that she was unwilling to be with relatives because the relationships reminded her of her mother’s death. She is very determined to forget the past and start off with school, members said.
The CWC is also worried about Sania’s privacy, as her location, has now been identified. “We want her to move on in a safe and secure environment — away from the public eye. This will let her have her own life. We are consulting with the Woman and Child welfare department to find out a new home for her – one which will allow her to go to school properly,” CWC Ranga Reddy chairperson, A. Venkateswarlu said.
Meanwhile, Sania spent less time with her relatives and moved into the home saying that she wanted to play with friends. The DNA results will be announced on July 15.
