Focus now on Govt schools: CM Pinarayi Vijayan

The government would help all the schools to improve education quality and standard.

Malappuram: The government would take all necessary steps to protect the public education system in the State, said Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. He was speaking at the inaugural session of the 19th World of EMS national seminar at Manjeri. “Public educational institutions which could be accessed by all were result of the policy of the first government, led by EMS. However, some school managements have now taken it for granted and are using the institution to churn out profits,” Mr. Pinarayi added.

The government would help all the schools to improve education quality and standard. All the schools in the State would be upgraded with high-tech facilities including smart class rooms, he said. "The government also needs help from the public and especially from expatiates for this purpose," the CM said, reiterating the local governments' responsibility in this efforts.

Noted economist and political commentator Dr. Prabhat Patnaik delivered the annual EMS memorial lecture at the seminar. “The global crisis which the capitalists have been facing for nearly a decade is not over yet. Being on the verge of peril they are now going hand in hand with right wing fascist forces to polarize the people of the country on communal lines to reap the benefits,”Dr. Patnaik said. “Fascist forces in the country grow with the corporate fund. Communal-Corporate alliance is set to damage the democracy,” Mr. Patnaik added.
