BJP, MIM politicising Jagtial SI issue, says KNPS
WARANGAL: Kula Nirmulana Porata Samithi (KNPS) general secretary Buram Abhinav accused BJP and AIMIM of politicising the suspension of Jagtial Rural sub-inspector A. Anil Kumar over a matter of sharing a seat in the RTC bus.
In a statement here on Saturday, Abhinav said what really happened is that two women, who happened to belong to the Muslim community, refused to share the seat with the SI’s wife on the bus.
The KNPS leader this matter has been communalised as a Hindu and Muslim issue with BJP intervening on behalf of the SI and MIM backing the Muslim women. He said owing to pressure put in by MIM chief and MP Asaduddin Owaisi, the SI had even been suspended, while the BJP has called for a bandh, alleging that police authorities took the decision under political pressure exerted by MIM.
Abhinav said both the parties are trying to preserve their strongholds in the constituency. He pointed out that even leaders of Yadava Sangham have intervened in favour of SI Anil, who belongs to their community.
The Sangham says that the sub-inspector is a sincere officer who, instead of using his influence, preferred that his wife take an RTC bus.
The KNPS leader asked people not to fall into the trap being laid by political parties playing cheap politics. He accused both BJP and MIM of trying to disturb peace and harmony prevailing among the people of various communities and religions.
