Peravoor incident was stage-mannered: CM Oommen Chandy
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy in a statement here informed that the incident of two tribal boys eating from a garbage-sorting centre at Peravoor in Kannur was stage-mannered. He alleged that it was this incident which prompted the Prime Minister Narendra Modi make unpleasant and baseless reports about Kerala during his election campaign meeting in Thiruvananthapuram.
One of the boys who are featured in the photograph and his mother have come out with a clarification of what really happened, Mr. Chandy said. The boy said that some people had asked him to collect some covers from the garbage heap and put them inside a gunny bag.
The people also handed some bananas over to the kids and clicked photographs when they were eating them and collecting the plastic bags. The mother has also added that she was not aware of the incident until a group of local BJP workers asked her why didn't she send her sons to a hostel.
