Applications invited for TSPSC chairman, members posts

Hyderabad: TSPSC The Telangana government has taken up steps to revive the Telangana Public Service Commission. Reports of paper leakage during several examinations conducted by the Commission tarnished its image, during the BRS government rule.

As part of the revival process, the TSPSC has invited applications for the appointment of TSPSC chairman and other members.

The application forms are available on www.telangana.gov.in and filled-in forms can be sent online through mail to secy-ser-gad@telangana.gov.in before 5 pm January 18.

Government chief secretary Santhi Kumar informed that the Search Committee would screen the applications and then finalise the candidates.

Resignations submitted by TSPSC chairman Janardhan Reddy and a few other members appointed by the BRS government have been accepted following which the posts fell vacant.

The applications would be examined and the appointment would be done following the guidelines in Article 316 in the Constitution.

According to TSPSC Rule 3, members cannot exceed the number 11, including the chairman.

Half of the members of the Commission should have completed 10 years of service either in the state or at the Centre. There should be no vigilance cases registered against them.

They should be experts in academics, management, law, science and technology or social sciences or humanities.

The tenure of the PSC members is 6 years. However, the retirement age for UPSC members in 65 years and 62 years for the state election commission.
