Doctor from tiny village Nunna invited to PM Box for viewing RD Parade

Vijayawada: A rare honour has come the way of a young doctor from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS), Dr Banavathu Tejaswi, who belongs to the tiny village of Nunna in Vijayawada Rural Mandal in the NTR district.

She would be among Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guests for this year’s Republic Day. The doctor would witness the Republic Day Parade on January 26, 2023, from the Prime Minister's Box at the Kartavya Path in New Delhi, along with 49 meritorious students drawn from across the country.

Banavathu Tejaswi received an invitation to this effect from the deputy secretary in the Ministry of Education’s Central University bureau) Partha Kansabanik.

Young Tejaswi had received a gold medal for the best outgoing PG student from the AIIMS, Jodhpur in Rajasthan. Earlier, she received six gold medals from the Dr YSR University of Health Sciences (formerly the Dr NTR University of Health Sciences).

Hearing the news, the locals were highly excited and full of happiness, lauding Tejaswi, who rose from their ranks. After completing the MBBS course, she had joined the AIMS, Jodhpur and completed the PG course.

Tejaswi was felicitated by the NTR district collector Dilli Rao at the collectorate in Vijayawada on Thursday. Rao said this was a very proud moment and the young doctor has been an inspiration to other students.
