Nellore: Charge sheet filed in record time

Based on a complaint by the girl\'s father, E. Sidda Reddy, the police booked a case on November 8.

Nellore/Vijayawada: Chittoor police filed a charge sheet in a record time of one month in the sensational rape and murder case of a 5-year-old girl. The incident occurred near KNR Convention Centre, Chenetha Nagar at Angallu village in Kurabolakota mandal in Chittoor district on November 7, 2019.

An unidentified person, aged between 25-30 years, got attracted to the victim when she came to attend one of her relative's marriage and even captured her photos on his mobile phone.

He followed her when she went to the washroom behind the convention hall and raped her before killing her in the ladies toilet. Later, he dumped the body behind the compound wall of the Convention Hall.

Based on a complaint by the girl's father, E. Sidda Reddy, the police booked a case on November 8. Police traced the accused Patan Mohammed Rafi of Molakalavaripalle during investigation on November 16 and sent him to remand.

Seized objects were sent to the assistant director, Regional Forensic Laboratory, Tirupati and State Forensic Laboratory in Mangalagiri through the first additional district judge of Chittoor.
