The Rs 10 coin had gone out of circulation after traders and even bus conductors refused to accept it. Despite the RBI stating that the Rs 10 coin are legal tender, it had become invalid with people not exchanging it for goods and services across the nation.
In a bid to create awareness that Rs 10 coin is legal tender and can be accepted by traders without any apprehensions, the hotel management kept made the offer and said that chicken biryani would be offered for Rs 10 only for the first 125 customers.
Soon people started queueing up in large numbers at the hotel to have their share of the favourite dish.
