Kannur police trains aspirants
KANNUR: For aspiring candidates from Kannur city for the Army recruitment rallies and other uniformed services, here is good news. Kannur Town Police is offering them free physical training. Every holiday, the police personnel will provide training on the Police Parade Ground. The programme is intended to bring more youth successful in the recruitment drives and build up a community of law abiding citizens who can help the police maintain law and order.
Circle-inspector T. K. Rathnakaran said the free training would help them not only boost their chances in the army, police, excise and fire force but bring up a team that can help them connect with the society. “Most of the recruitment rallies are held in this station limits, but not many get selected from here. This is one of the reasons for us to start this programme. Also, we are giving them training in personality development,” he told DC.
“We have also formed a WhatsApp group with the candidates attending the training programme and can be used as informers.” Those aged 18 to 25 can apply using the form available at the CI office. Consent from parents is also required. Retired sub-inspector Sivadasan and retired ASI Rajendran are leading the training.
