VS Achuthanandan adamant on Secretariat office
Thiruvananthapuram: CPM leader V. S. Achuthanandan, who heads the Administrative Reforms Committee, shifted to his new official residence at Kowdiar House on Sunday but reiterated that his office has to function in the government secretariat and not at the Institute of Management in Government on PMG road. He told reporters at the Kowdiar House that the office of the commission would function properly only if it is based at the secretariat.
He had also shot off a letter to Mr S. M. Vijayanand, Chief Secretary, protesting against the government not allotting the office at the secretariat annexe. “There is uncertainty about the office of the commission. There will be more clarity in the coming days after holding talks with the concerned,” he said. He shifted to the new residence at 12.30 p.m. along with his wife Vasumathi, son V. A. Arun Kumar and his family. Mr Achuthanandan wished the reporters a happy Onam and also offered payasam to them.
