VACB raids DySP office, residence in asset case in Kochi
The special cell of the VACB raided the residence and office of the official at Tripunithura.

Kochi: The officials of special cell Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (VACB) raided the office and residence of DySP Bijo Alexander (Internal Security) in Kochi on Thursday. The raids were held based on the preliminary investigation held by vigilance on a complaint that he had amassed wealth much higher than his known sources of income. The special cell of the VACB raided the residence and office of the official at Tripunithura.
According to the officials the case pertains to amassing wealth to the tune of Rs 48.21 lakh while his income was Rs 31.34 lakh during 2011 to 2015. The total income of the official during the period was Rs 79.55 lakh and out of this he spent only Rs 13.05 lakh. Mr. Bijo was involved in the investigation of some of the sensational sex racket cases in the state including that Varapuzha and Paravur sex scandals. The raid was in continuation of preliminary probe held earlier. A first information report in this regard has also been filed at the Vigilance Court in Muvattupuzha.
