Andhra Pradesh all set for Pushkaralu, focus on VVIPs' comfort
Vijayawada: All arrangements are in place for the 12-day Krishna Pushkaralu that begins on Friday, with special attention being paid to the comfort of VVIPs.
The state government has arranged accommodation for VVIPs at the Bhavani Island where a ghat has been especially prepared for them.
The government has also arranged boats for the short journey to the Krishna-Godavari confluence at Ibrahimpatnam, which is the venue for the harathi.
While these facilities are exclusively meant for VVIPs, the general pilgrims can console themselves with candlelight dinners and bike racing.
Officials said that VVIPs can also utilise the bathing facilities at the Durga temple too since it is quite close to the Bhavani Island.
However, the government has announced that when it comes to darshan, there will be no deferential treatment for VVIPs.
The government is keen to highlight the tourism potential of the capital region and sees the Pushkaralu as a God-given opportunity to do so.
It is perhaps for this reason that the state government has gone all out to tastefully illuminate Prakasam Barrage and all potential tourist spots in the capital region.
