Low-level causeway bridge washed away; road connectivity affected

Road connectivity between the villages and the mandal headquarters was affected badly by the damage to the low-level causeway

ADILABAD: A low-level causeway bridge was washed away at the Makulapeta between the Vemanpalli and Nagaram villages on Monday after the overflow of flood water from the Vemanpalli Mathadiguda vagu in Mancherial district.

Road connectivity between the villages and the mandal headquarters was affected badly by the damage to the low-level causeway.

Officials inspected the causeway bridge on Monday.

There weren't serious adverse effects from the floods and the situation was under control with no heavy rains on Monday, but it was drizzling in the erstwhile Adilabad district.

Officials released 1.15 lakh cusecs of water downstream from the Kadam project by lifting 13 gates of the project while the inflow was 86,258 cusecs. Water was at 690 feet level while the project capacity was 700 feet.
