Chennai: The total lockdown was clamped on Madurai city and its surrounding areas on June 24 jhs been extended till July, an official press release said.
The two-day extension of the total lockdown would help the government in conducting fever camps and door-to-door enumeration of the people's health status, the release said.
Area falling under Madurai city, Paravai panchayat union, Madurai East, Madurai West and village panchayats in Tiruparankundaram region, would return to the pre-June 24 state of lockdown on July 15 and continue like that till July 31.
