Hyderabad: Techie ends life, reason unknown
Hyderabad: A 31-year-old software engineer, who was happily married for over ten years and had a four-year-old son, committed suicide on Sunday evening in Miyapur. The couple had a love marriage a decade ago and were happy, despite the husband not working for over two years due to health issues.
“The victim, identified as Keerthana Budige, was working with an MNC and was the sole earning member of their family,” Harishchandra Reddy, inspector of Miyapur police station said.
On Sunday evening when Shreedhar Budige, her husband stepped out of home to buy groceries, she hanged herself in her bedroom while her son was in another room. Shreedhar, was shocked when he found this and was inconsolable. He called his friends who then informed the police.
“We are shocked by this sudden death because both of them were supportive of each other and Keerthana was not upset with Shreedhar not working as he had a severe stomach infection,” said Praveen Kumar, a common friend of the couple. Ruling out any financial trouble, he also added that Keerthana was earning around Rs 15 lakh per annum, which was enough to support the family.
Sainath Budige, younger brother of Shreedhar, also said that the couple had an understanding as he was advised by doctors two years ago to stay back at home because of health issues.
Kumar, the family's neighbour said that the couple have been living happily for the past two-and-a-half years but, occasionally had their share of differences like any other married couple.
A case under Section 174 of CrPC (suspicious death) has been registered at the Miyapur police station and an investigation is on.
Tough road ahead for kid, ailing husband
The fate of the techie's four-year-old son, Shresth Budige is uncertain even though the father has decided to look after him.
Shreedhar Budige, is ailing and has not been working for the past two years, which raises the question on how he will mobilise the finances required to raise his son.
Sainath Budige, Shreedhar's brother, has volunteered to help them out. “Shreedhar will take care of Shresth. Finances are not a problem as we are going to cooperate as I will help my brother,” he said while talking to this newspaper.
According to sources, Keerthana's family is not willing to contribute to the child's upbringing in any way. Friends confirmed that the child will be staying with the father from now on.
