Mahija to approach CM Pinarayi Vijayan seeking CBI probe
Kozhikode: Mahija, the mother of first year B.Tech student Jishnu Pranoy who was found dead in his hotel room on January 6 this year, will request Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to recommend a CBI investigation into case. Ms Mahija told DC that she will send a letter to the chief minister soon, placing her demand.
Jishnu’s relatives had visited state police chief T.P. Senkumar and he had informed them that the police would not oppose handing over the case to the CBI.
Gross lapses had occurred in the investigation in the initial stage and evidences were destroyed, Ms Mahija said. “A new FIR needs to be filed to move the case in the right direction and for the truth to prevail,” she said.
She also expressed disappointment as nothing has happened in the case after the government offered all speedy actions following her protest in Thiruvananthapuram.
