Hyderabad: L&T staff face case for open potholes
Hyderabad: Criminal cases were booked against L&T staff by a GHMC circle head of Central Zone for negligently keeping a pothole open without any signage or warning to the public in Yousufguda even after the deadline.
The L&T staff were booked by Jubilee Hills Police on Monday following a complaint received by Soundarya, an assistant executive engineer, GHMC circle head, Central Zone.
“We received a complaint stating that even after the given deadlines are crossed, the work on the potholes is still pending,” said the police inspector of Jubilee Hills S. Venkat Reddy.
GHMC has sent them a notice twice, to which there was no response, following which the officials filed a complaint about legal action against them. The given deadline for the completion was May 27, after which several accidents were reported pertaining to the potholes.
“There should have been proper warning signs or barricades for the commuters to be aware of such holes,” said a resident of that area. Jubilee Hills police booked a case under section 427 of IPC and section 3 of Public Property Damage Act.
