Cyberabad police seizes fake seeds, Rs 1 crore goods

Each pack was being sold for Rs 800.

Hyderabad: Cyberabad police raided a seeds’ warehouse in Shamshabad and seized Rs 1.09 crore worth goods including a huge quantity of spurious cotton seeds. The two suspects who were running the godown have been arrested and identified as Ravi Kumar and Srinivas.

The SOT Shamshabad teams had raided the spurious cotton seed unit located in RGI Airport Police Station limits on the basis of extremely reliable leads.

Police said that the suspects had been packing spurious cotton seeds under the names of Nandini Srujana, Adhi, Nandini Mahanandi, Billa 999, Nandini Dwaraka, Hava-202, Lion-666, Om Sai-Spoorthy, Sri Gold, Kaveri Jaadoo, Akshay-669, Lucky, Safari, Bhakthi, Sri Rama, Billa, Cash, Raithu, Sruthi and Nuziveedu in packets of 450 grams.

Each pack was being sold for Rs 800. Police seized goods worth Rs 1.09 lakh from the unit including packed seeds worth Rs 24 lakh, loose cotton seeds and 90 bags containing seeds of 50 kgs each.
