No permission was given for Amberpet stir

The mobile numbers printed on the poster calling for the protest were not reachable.

Hyderbad: Hyderabad police commissioner Anjani Kumar said on Saturday that no permission had been given for a protest march at Amberpet.

He was responding to a question regarding a social media post by a local outfit which had ostensibly called for the march.

Mr Kumar said, “Some people with a vested interest have been spreading rumours and fake news on social media about a gathering of people at Amberpet. No unlawful gathering shall be allowed at Amberpet, particularly in and around the area where there was a law and order situation last Sunday.”

He said anyone trying to disturb the peace and tranquility at Amberpet would be dealt with severely in accordance with the law. He requested people to cooperate with the police and refrain from sharing such messages for maintenance of public order and peace.
