Lad Bazaar Drain work left mid-way

Mr Mohammed Ahmed said that the drain work was taken up almost three months ago.

Hyderabad: Traders and general public are facing trouble as the GHMC is delaying work on the SW drain on the Mahboob Chowk-Lad Bazaar Road. Locals complained that the debris has not been cleared for more than a month. Mr Mohammed Ahmed said that the drain work was taken up almost three months ago. “They dug the road on one side and suddenly stop the work without citing any reason. When we approached the GHMC officials, they started the work one month ago, but left it once again without completing it or removing the debris.”

He said workers reconstructed the manholes but did not remove the debris, due to which one-third of the width of the road has become useless.

He said that traffic flow was disrupted due to the narrowing of the stretch. Traders are worried that if debris is not removed, their business will be hampered during Ramzan as customers will not turn up due to the obstruction.
