Hyderabad Metro Rail trains to run till 1 at night for IPL final

HMRL managing director N.V.S. Reddy said that extra trains would be pressed into service based on the demand.

Hyderabad: Metro Rail trains will run till 1 am to carry home people who attend Sunday’s IPL final between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians. Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited said extra trains would be deployed for the purpose.

Speaking to this newspaper, HMRL managing director N.V.S. Reddy said that keeping in view of the heavy rush for the final, additional trains would be deployed and run till late night.

He said that the Metro Rail would run till 1 am and extra trains would be pressed into service based on the demand. He said that a review meeting has been held with Rachakonda police, GHMC and traffic police pertaining to provide additional parking spaces for the motorists. Mr Reddy said that the security in and around the stadium had been increased with special command and control centres installed to monitor CCTV footage during the match proceedings.
