Hyderabad: A division bench of the Telangana High Court headed by Chief Justice Ujjal Bhuyan on Tuesday directed the High Court registry to place before an appropriate single bench, the two petitions questioning the adverse remarks and findings recorded by the fact-finding commission headed by Justice V.S. Sirpurakar that was appointed by the Supreme Court on the alleged encounter of the four accused in the Disha murder and rape case, for hearing.
The two petitions were individually filed by Jaruplavath Pandu, then tahasildar of Farooqnagar mandal of Ranga Reddy, and then Shadnagar inspector A. Sreedhar Kumar.
They requested in their petitions to quash or set aside the remarks and comments made by the commission in its report against them. They told the court that the reports were adversely affecting their reputation and their government service.
The commission, in its report said tahasildar Pandu, who was incharge to perform the duties of the Judicial First Class Magistrate, had made procedural improprieties and inconsistencies while ordering judicial remand of the four accused in the Disha rape and murder case.
The commission doubts over the tahasildar’s role and involvement in the inconsistencies while ordering the judicial remand of the accused to police custody and observed that he was liable to undergo departmental proceedings.
The Commission also expressed doubts in the report about the integrity of inspector Sreedhar Kumar in the incident and made certain remarks.
