Telangana woman who fought Nizam tyranny dies
WARANGAL: Chennaboina Kamalamma, one of the fighters of Telangana armed struggle against the tyrannical Nizam rule, passed away on Sunday at a hospital in Hyderabad.
She was 92. Her mortal remains were brought back to Warangal. Several CPI leaders paid homage to her at Pochamma maidan in Warangal.
Born into a family of freedom fighters in Nainala village, Nelli-kuduru mandal of present Mahbubabad district, she joined the armed struggle to fight the Razakars as part of Telangana liberation struggle by Communist Party of India at the age of 15.
She fearlessly took part in the armed struggle. She composed revolutionary songs and sang them at the tribal villages motivating the people to join the army. At the same time she fired the gun in the battle with the enemy.
