Watch: Hotel staff thrashed by groom's friends in Delhi
New Delhi: In a viral video, staff of the Piccadely Hotel in Janakpuri area was vehemently beaten up by the relatives and friends of the groom who was supposed to be married at the hotel. The reason behind this uncalled incident was the food served at the hotel.
DCP Monika Bhardwaj who was at the scene stated that the scuffle started after the relatives and friends at the wedding were served ‘cold food’.
However, the allegations were denied by the hotel manager and said that groom’s friends misbehaved with female staff.
“The groom and his guests fled without even attending the wedding function,” said Rajesh Batla, the General Manager of the hotel.
Batla said that the groom and his friends got drunk, began dancing and misbehaved with our staff. “Four of our staff suffered head injuries,” Batla added.
“On the day of the incident, we detained two guests and one waiter as part of preventive action. On Monday, hotel authorities approached us with a written complaint. We are in the process of registering a first information report,” said DCP Bhardwaj.
The party included close to 400 guests but incident took place in the wee hours past midnight when only around 50 close family and friends were left at the venue.
No revelations about the groom, the guests present or their contact details were given by the police.
