Hyderabad: The women safety wing of Telangana Police launched a ‘Cyber Ambassadors Platform’ (CAP) on the eve of the National Youth Day. The program, held in association with the department of school education, aims at empowering school-going adolescent students as cyber-safety ambassadors, creating awareness on cybercrimes and preventive measures.
Home minister Mohd Mahmood Ali launched the program, which will initially
train 9424 cyber ambassadors from 2381 schools from across the state.
“The state government is committed towards safety and security of children.
Telangana police is a pioneering institute in the country, preventing crimes
with special focus on children and women. CAP is the need of the hour in the
light of the rising cybercrimes,” said Ali during the launch.
DGP Anjani Kumar said that as cyber ambassadors, it was the responsibility
of the younger generation to work towards building a safer community.
Shikha Goel, chief of women safety wing, said that these ambassadors will be
the torchbearers for cyber safety and urged all children to ‘think before
you click’.
This programme will cover 1603 government schools, 259 BC welfare schools,
237 SC welfare schools, 78 ST welfare schools and 204 minority welfare
schools for 2022-2023.
