Stop privatisation of RINL, Says Amarnath

Visakhapatnam: Industries minister Gudivada Amarnath appealed to Union civil aviation and steel minister Jyotiraditya Scindia not to go ahead with the privatisation of the RINL.

Amarnath welcomed Scindia at Rajahmundry Airport on Sunday. Later, he participated in the foundation stone-setting ceremony, along with Scindia, for the construction of a new terminal at the airport.

In the meeting held on the occasion, Amarnath requested that the Union minister consider the agitations of thousands of workers who were demanding that the RINL not be privatised. He also appealed to him to provide the necessary support for the RINL to achieve more production.

Meanwhile, Amarnath stated that the modernisation of Rajahmundry Airport would greatly benefit the people of this region. He opined that the youth of this area were working in many places in the country and abroad, so the expansion of the airport would be very useful for them.

He also opined that the city of Rajahmundry needed an international airport. Amarnath also informed that steps had been taken to set up a flying school at Kurnool Airport at a cost of Rs.500 crore.
