Apollo Cardiologist takes charge as President of Cardiological Society of India

Hyderabad: Dr P.C. Rath, senior cardiologist at Apollo Hospitals, Hyderabad, has taken over as president of the Cardiological Society of India (CSI) for 2023-24.

Dr Rath assumed office at the platinum jubilee annual conference celebration of the CSI at Kolkata on December 9, which was attended by more than 4,000 delegates from India and abroad, including 47 international faculty members from the USA, Russia, the rest of Europe, Africa and Argentina.

There were special sessions on women and cardiovascular health, pollution and cardiovascular health and latest interventional techniques.

As CSI president, Dr Rath will coordinate with state branches and cardiological societies of other countries. He will also coordinate with the Centre and state governments to formulate healthcare policies.

Under his leadership, the next CSI annual conference will be held in Lucknow in December 2024.
