TIRUPATI: On the fourth day of ongoing Srivari annual Navaratri Brahmotsavams, Lord Malayappa Swamy on Sunday blessed devotees in Rajamannar Alankara from the Kalpavruksha Vahana.

However, in view of Covid-19 regulations, this vahana seva had been held at Kalyanotsava Mandapam within the Srivari temple at Tirumala. As per legend, Kalpavruksha is an iconic divine tree, which blesses everyone with boons, including health, prosperity and longevity in life.

Hindu Dharmartha Samiti of Chennai will present colourful umbrellas for Garuda Seva on Monday. Samiti trustee R.R. Gopalji handed over nine of these umbrellas to TTD chairman Y.V. Subba Reddy and TTD EO K.S. Jawahar Reddy.

Devotees from Srivilliputtur in Tamil Nadu will present special garlands made of tulasi and other sacred flowers to the Tirumala temple. Specially designed Andal and Sikhamani malas will be taken from Pedda Jeeyar Mutt to the main temple in a colourful procession.

Meanwhile, Snapana Tirumanjanam has been performed on Utsava idols during Sunday afternoon. These garlands, made of camphor, cloves and cardamom, turned a special attraction, apart from those made of corn, pearls, lotus and tulasi seeds, yellow pavitra beads and lotus flowers.

Later in the evening, Sarvabhoopala Vahanam of Lord Malayappa was taken around inside the temple. The message it conveys is that Lord Venkateswara, like a true leader, controls the entire universe and protects its people.
