Kurnool: A road accident claimed the lives of three persons on the night of Sunday in Mahanandi mandal. The accident occurred at Boyalakuntla Metta when a van collided with an autorickshaw. The victims were identified as Paradeshi Lakshmi (40), Bangarraju (21), and Subbamma (45), all hailing from Mitnala village in Nandyal district.
These people had visited a relative's residence in Mahanandi for some settlement on Sunday and were returning to their village via an autorickshaw. But a speeding Bolero van crashed into their autorickshaw on the Gajulapalle-Giddaluru road, resulting in their spot death.
Two other passengers who suffered severe injuries were rushed to Nandyal hospital for treatment, said police. The local police shifted the dead bodies for the postmortem and registered a case and initiated an investigation into the incident.e
