KITE to facilitate donation

The state needs to improve its data base and models to tackle them.

Kochi: Responding to the state government’s request, schools in Kerala are gearing up to contribute to the Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF) on Tuesday and Wednesday. KITE (Kerala Infrastructure and Technology for Education) has devised an online system for schools to contribute to CMDRF, thereby enabling over 50 lakh students in over 15000+ schools from all the streams in the state to send their funds through a transparent mechanism.

“KITE has integrated a special module in Sampoorna School Management software which not only enables easy tracking of funds from each schools but also facilitates obtaining key statistics on the same day,” said K. Anvar Sadath, vice-chairman and executive director, KITE.

The government has already asked all schools in the state (government, aided, un-aided, CBSE/ISCE/KV) to enter the details of their schools in 'Sampoorna' ( www.sampoorna.itschool.gov.in ) through a Government Order. The general education department has also issued a circular insisting that the flood relief funds from schools be routed only through Sampoorna. Primary and secondary schools who have already registered with Sampoorna can use their existing log-in credentials to upload the fund collection details in the portal.

However, higher secondary and vocational higher secondary schools will have to use their log-in credentials as in HSCAP for entering the portal. CBSE/ISCE/KV schools which have not registered in Sampoorna, can do so in the register link provided in the home page of the portal. Schools are directed to enter the details of funds collected from students in the portal by Wednesday evening and remit the funds to the bank account of General Education Department by Thursday through SBI’s netbanking facility.

“We will complete the listing out process of damages in schools by Tuesday, along with the photographs of buildings, compound walls, toilets, drinking water facility, bio-diversity parks which were damaged in the flood,” said Mr Sadath. The final details on the damages at schools would be published by Wednesday.
