Official ‘drowns’ in Ganesha calls
Recently during the Ganesha idol immersion, this reporter called up a BBMP official to inquire about the designated places meant for idol immersion. Apparently fed up with providing the same information throughout the day to several reporters, considering the number of news channels and papers, the officer said, “Please help me with this. I will be grateful to you here as well as afterlife. Immerse me instead at a lake or sump of your choice.”

The moment the spiritual leader said that the day should never come when one is compelled to beg for a glass of water, Mr Siddaramaiah took the glass in his hand and gulped water.
