LDF failed on stray dog issue: V M Sudheeran

He also asked the government to make amendments in the affidavit submitted to the Supreme Court.

Thiruvananthapuram: KPCC president V. M. Sudheeran has charged the LDF government with failure to present the real facts about the stray dog menace in the Supreme Court. “The state has become a haven for dangerous stray dogs,” he told reporters here after the UDF meeting on Saturday. He also asked the government to make amendments in the affidavit submitted to the Supreme Court.

The government had failed in giving the statistics about the dog attacks, including the death of a woman, to the Supreme Court, he said. “The court is unaware of the threat to the lives of the people due to the stray dogs going on the rampage, which is a serious lapse of the LDF government,” he said.

He added that the observation made by Local Self- Government Minister K. T. Jaleel that violent dogs would be killed had not been brought to the attention of the Supreme Court. The government had given the affidavit in the court hiding the facts, he said.
