Thiruvananthapuram: The APJ Technological University has introduced a calendar for academic audit of engineering colleges to ensure academic accountability. As per the calendar, the first audit for odd semesters has to be done from September 26 to October 7 and the report should be submitted before October 14. The second audit is from November 28 to December 9 and the report has to be submitted before December 15.
The first audit for even semesters is from February 13 to 23 and the deadline to submit the report is March 3. The second audit is from April 24 to May 5 and the report has to be submitted before May 12. The components of the academic auditing system include (a) course delivery as per scheme and syllabus; (b) co-curricular and extra-curricular activities; (c) overall discipline and academic functioning of the institution; (d) delivery of duties and responsibilities of faculty members; (e) class/course committees.
Each college will have an internal auditing cell to keep the records of the components as per the objectives. The academic auditor of the university will visit the institution and conduct an independent audit of the academic system based on the data provided by the assessment.
