CPM files plea with NHRC on RSS killings
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan submitted a memorandum to the National Human Rights Commission listing out the casualties and damages in alleged BJP-RSS attacks. He submitted the memorandum to the NHRC investigation team led by SP Sumedha Dwivedi during a sitting in here on Thursday. It says in the last 15 months, 13 persons, including CPM workers, were killed by RSS. More than 250 CPM workers were injured and 83 households, more than 75 party offices and 26 vehicles, including three ambulances, were also destroyed.
Homes of CPM state secretary and three councillors were also attacked, it said. He also alleged a propaganda at the national level that CPM was unleashing unilateral attacks. Several CPM and BJP-RSS workers affected by the recent political clashes also deposed before the team, which would also take statements from the police officers probing political conflicts and the murder of BJP local leader S. L. Rajesh.
