Thrissur to host global magic show on Saturday
Thrissur: A three-day international magic convention named Manthra-2016 will be held in Thrissur from August 13-15. The convention will end on August 15 evening with a mega magic show.
The event will be attended by 1,000 magicians from all over the world, said magician Samraj, general convener of the event.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan is scheduled to inaugurate the convention, to be held in association with Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Academy and department of Tourism and Asian Magic Association based in Malaysia. The magic show will be inaugurated by Jadugar Anand, a well known magician.
Kenny Yas from Malaysia will coordinate the performance of foreign delegates taking part in the gala show and convention. Competition will be held in illusion, conjuring, close-up, table hopping and street magic.
The first prize winner in the senior section of illusion will be awarded a cash prize of Rs 111,111, citation and trophy and Rs 33,333 for the second prize winner. The first prize winner in the junior section will be given Rs 11,111 and second prize winner Rs 7,777.
Prominent illusionists Prof. Shankar from Karantaka, Nirmala Malayath from Kerala and Samrat Shankar from Rajasthan will be the Guests of Honours.
Actor Innocent, Sorrya Krishnamoorthy, magician Gopinath Muthukad and several others will attend the event.
