Gitanjali devashala of Hyderabad sets record

The event, Waving for Inclusion', had 3,500 children waving the Tricolour at one time.

Hyderabad: Students of Gitanjali Devshala School, Secunderabad, entered the Limca Book of Records for bringing together the largest congregation of school children and differently abled children waving the national flag on Wednesday.

The event, ‘Waving for Inclusion’, had 3,500 children waving the Tricolour at one time. Differently abled children from schools across the city were present during the event.

Gitanjali Devashala principal Madhavi Chandra said, “We recognise that there is a need to translate disability into ability and break free from social taboos associated with being differently abled.”
