TN government to unveil policy on AI, IoT, VR: M Manikandan

He said the tariff for cable TV has been kept low in the interest of the people.

CHENNAI: The State government will unveil a policy on Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Internet of Things (IoT), Virtual Reality, Augmented reality, Drones and Data Analytics, State IT Minister M. Manikandan has said.

Winding up the demand for grants for his department in the Assembly on Wednesday, Mr. Manikandan said the policy would be formulated by TNeGA (Tamil Nadu e-Governance Agency). He said the government would also unveil an electronics hardware manufacturing policy aimed at making Tamil Nadu a manufacturing hub for electronic hardware.

He said the tariff for cable TV has been kept low in the interest of the people. A minimum of Rs. 120 is charged along with GST, he said and added that a revenue of Rs. 268.89 crore is expected this year. On the cards is to provide internet facility for about 366 schools across Tamil Nadu.
