Pudukkottai: State performing well on child rights, says panel
Pudukkottai: Dr. R.G. Anand, member, National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR), expressed satisfaction over the Tamil Nadu government’s role in protecting children and their rights. He told newsmen here on Tuesday on the sidelines of distributing welfare measures to students of the municipal middle school that crime rate against children was brought down in the southern states in the last one year. He said that the NCPCR generally received more complaints of sex abuse of children and denial of education to them. He said that during the last three months, the NCPCR identified 300 crime incidents against children.
The NCPCR is holding an enquiry into 10 important crime cases against children, he added. To a question, he said that the NCPCR is conducting its bench sittings in 727 districts across the country. He said that the NCPCR will come out with a special project for female children working as maid servants.
