Hyderabad: Ranga Reddy SP B. Naveen Kumar, who is facing an inquiry for allegedly misusing a home guard for personal jobs, has suspended a head constable. While the SP said that constable Mahesh (HC-1978) was suspended for misusing official vehicles, sources say that it was done to avenge “leaking information about the SP’s misconduct to the media.”
The SP’s act has come as a shocker to the RR police force as the Hyderabad Range DIG had ordered the SP not to take any action against subordinates till the inquiry is over.
SP Naveen Kumar is not responding to calls from DC. The SP said that HC Mahesh had “misused” government property. Other RR police officers, said that Mahesh had used the vehicle only for official purposes. Mahesh, who is now posted at Bantawaram, is not involved in the leakage.
