Hyderabad: The students of Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University have taken to Facebook to raise their demand for justice to B.Sc Agriculture final year student B. Pavan Kumar who drowned at Kampasagar in Tripurapuram mandal in Nalgonda district on July 1.

The university has released a compensation of Rs 2 lakh to Pavan’s parents. Students said the sum was paltry. A student said, “Pavan’s death occurred due to the university’s negligence in providing basic amenities.Pavan’s parents are daily wage labourers and he has a sister who is yet to be married and a younger brother pursuing his degree in Hyderabad. His parents had hoped that Pavan would help them financially.”

Sanjeev, a relative of Pavan, said, “Pavan's parents are contemplating to file police complaint in Hyderabad. They have given a written complaint to the police in Tripuraram but no FIR could be filed against university there.”
