Audio a ploy to escape with money?

Bengaluru: While Mansoor in an alleged audio recorded by him claimed that he was ending his life, IMA sources and police suspect that it was a ploy and he might have fled the country.

While setting up IMA in 2006, Mansoor took investments from public offering big monthly returns. Everything was fine until April this year when the company, because of losses suffered, stopped disbursement of returns which were about 1 to 2.7 percent.

Concerned investors started visiting the office and they were told that the returns would start from May 15 but never did.

In his recent announcement, Mansoor had promised to disburse the returns after Ramadan but ended up sending an audio clip instead.

The police have formed teams and launched search operation for Mansoor. DCP East Rahul Kumar Shahapurwad said, "Khan has gone absconding and we are clueless about his whereabouts."
