Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee dismisses rant against KC(M) boss K M Mani

The most crucial aspersion the editorial has cast on Mr Mani is that his hands have the blood of his guru K. M. George.

Thiruvananthapuram/Kottayam: Congress party has distanced itself from the editorial in Veekshanam against Kerala Congress (Mani) chairman K. M. Mani calling him as a "burden" for whom politics is always "business". Mani has retaliated that Veekshanam has failed in its perspective. KPCC president M. M. Hassan said it was not his party's view and it was apologising for that. The party mouthpiece had editorially commented that Mani's attempt to become the chief minister with the LDF support while being in UDF revealed the "real political morale" of him and that he had on numerous occasions bargained for and got several things which he did not deserve at all.

The most crucial aspersion the editorial has cast on Mr Mani is that his hands have the blood of his guru K. M. George. “There is not a single leader in the history of Kerala Congress who has not been bruised by the poisonous horns of Mr Mani. Mr Mani had tortured everyone from its founder leader K. M. George to P. C. George. K. M. George died of a heart attack because of Mr Mani. UDF has its doors closed on Mr Mani and company,” it said.

It also reminded the veteran Kerala Congress leader that he and his son Jose K. Mani got a political identity just because the Congress was ready to shoulder them. Congress sources told DC that Kozhikode edition’s resident editor Mohammed Ali had written the controversial editorial as per the advice of managing editor P. T. Thomas MLA. But a section of leaders feels there was no need of Mr Hassan to state that it was the view of the leader writer.

Speaking to reporters in Pala, Mr Mani said Veekshanam had of late lost its perspective. Referring to the KC(M) breaching its agreement with the Congress party in the district panchayat elections thereby capturing power with LDF support, he reminded the Congress that his party was not part of the UDF. He described it as a natural repose of workers to its behaviour.
