KOZHIKODE: Mafia elements and goons are ruling the state, forcing Mahija, mother of Jishnu Pranoy whose lone son was killed, to beg the Chief Minister to arrest the murderers, said RMP leader K.K. Rema. “It is shame for the state which boasts of a revolutionary tradition,” she added. Ms Rema was addressing the protest in front of the office of ADGP, North Zone, here, demanding the arrest of those who were responsible for the death of Jishnu on Friday. “The law and order system of the state has crumbled,” she said, adding that even tiny tots are not at all safe.
She alleged Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan who is heading the LDF government, is standing by hunters at a time the victims are crying for protection. A large posse of police was camping on the spot from morning itself to prevent any kind of untoward incidents. The protest march that started at the head post office premises reached the ADGP office by 12.30 pm. By the time police had closed the road with barricades. K. Biswas and T.K. Siby also spoke.
