Teacher Consumes Sleeping Pills, Urge Government to Release Salaries on Time

Anantapur: A teacher working at the Chinna Mushtur MPUP School in Uravakonda mandal made an attempt to end his life by consuming sleeping pills, upset over delay in release of salaries.

B Mallesh allegedly consumed sleeping pills at a deserted place near the Penna Ahobilam Lord Narasimha Swamy temple area. The teacher posted a five-page letter on social media that also urged the government to act on the CPS issue. The letter was viral on social media on Sunday.

The teacher stated that he was a fan of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and supported him in the 2019 polls. “Jagan Reddy had promised to cancel CPS. This apart, salaries are not being paid every month regularly,” the letter said.

He urged the CM to credit salaries for teachers at least by the 5th of every month.

People in the area noticed the teacher in an unconscious state and alerted the police. “Mallesh was shifted to the Anantapur GGH. Teachers union leaders visited the hospital.

AP NGO association leader Vijaya Bhaskar urged the government to respond to the plea from the teacher and pay salaries to teachers on time.
