Being arrested under the PD Act, Suman Kumar could not get bail for one year

Hyderabad: After Cyberabad police detained key accused in gambling cases Gutta Suman Kumar under the PD Act, their Hyderabad counterparts, who registered cases against businessman Arvind Agarwal, washed their hands off. Being arrested under the PD Act, Suman Kumar could not get bail for one year.

The Cyberabad police said that they had reviewed the case of gambling activities in which Suman Kumar was guilty of operating the crime and detained him. Kumar is notorious for organising gambling activities and casinos at different places and star hotels. The investigation official from Begumpet police, Domata Debora filed a charge-sheet before the court framing charges against the accused, including Agarwal. However, Begumpet police, who conducted raids on Maruthi Basera Apartments on November 5, found some persons playing poker on the fifth floor. It was organised by Agarwal. Police, on noticing VVIPs, MLAs and MLCs around, let them off without taking action. The accused include Agarwal, Jaffar Yousuf, Siddharat Agarwal, Bhageria Suryakanth and Abdul Ali Gilani.
