Thiruvananthapuram: The APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University has once again messed up  the engineering examinations. Many students of  MTech  civil engineering evening batch  could not write the examinations  due to the  last-minute announcement of re-examinations  which were earlier cancelled after old questions were  distributed. The question papers of the examinations held in  December 2015 were distributed for the  geotech paper examinations of the first semester MTech   held on December 2.  The fact that  it was the question paper of  December 2015  was printed on the question paper.

Though the students made this clear to the invigilators,   they were asked to continue with  the examinations after consultations with the university authorities. They were also not informed about the cancellation of the examinations till the last minute. On Thursday, the colleges were informed that the  new examinations for the paper will be held on Friday. Many evening course students who are employed in public and private sector could not write the examinations as they could not get leave.

This despite that fact that the university had postponed all other M.Tech examination scheduled on Friday as the PSC examinations for lecturer in electrical and electronics in government polytechnics were scheduled for the day.
University pro-vice-chancellor M. Abdul Rahman said  that there were only three colleges which offered this particular subject and that there were no complaints regarding the re-examinations.
