APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University messes up exams again

Thiruvananthapuram: The APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University has once again messed up the engineering examinations. Many students of MTech civil engineering evening batch could not write the examinations due to the last-minute announcement of re-examinations which were earlier cancelled after old questions were distributed. The question papers of the examinations held in December 2015 were distributed for the geotech paper examinations of the first semester MTech held on December 2. The fact that it was the question paper of December 2015 was printed on the question paper.

Though the students made this clear to the invigilators, they were asked to continue with the examinations after consultations with the university authorities. They were also not informed about the cancellation of the examinations till the last minute. On Thursday, the colleges were informed that the new examinations for the paper will be held on Friday. Many evening course students who are employed in public and private sector could not write the examinations as they could not get leave.

This despite that fact that the university had postponed all other M.Tech examination scheduled on Friday as the PSC examinations for lecturer in electrical and electronics in government polytechnics were scheduled for the day.
University pro-vice-chancellor M. Abdul Rahman said that there were only three colleges which offered this particular subject and that there were no complaints regarding the re-examinations.
