Testing medical ethical practices
The Federation of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the UK has announced the successful launch of the MRCP (UK) PACES examination in Hyderabad. MRCP (UK) is the largest international clinical examination in the world. 41 trainee doctors undertook the examination between November 2 and November 4. Despite Hyderabad being one of the popular healthcare destination, it took a long time to achieve such an achievement of this high regard.
The examination tests the candidate’s ability to practice medicine safely and efficiently at postgraduate level. The Federation’s partner in the city is Innovate Health Systems, based in Hitec City. “The group was chosen for their drive, vision and enthusiasm to encourage postgraduate medical education in India and the ethical practices they have,” said Dr Donald Farquhar, International Medical Director for the Royal College Federation that is a collaboration between Royal College of Physicians of London, Edinburgh and Glasgow.
The delegation was lead by Dr Kenneth Dagg, Dr Peter Newman and Dr Graham Curry. “This is a prestigious achievement for the state of Telangana and is another step forward for Hyderabad to be an international medicine education hub. Innovate Health Systems is privileged to be a part of this contribution,” says Dr Mahender Vyasabattu, Federation lead in Hyderabad and the team involved Dr Kiran Peddi, Dr Kavitha Gone and another 10 highly qualified Physicians from Hyderabad. The MRCP(UK) PACES examination will now take place biannually in Hyderabad and it became the Federation’s sixth centre in India.
