CPM anti-BJP campaign begins

Janaraksha Yatra aimed at triggering violence'.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM on Monday accused BJP-RSS of trying to create a second liberation movement in the state with the dubious intention of throwing out a democratically elected government. CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishna who inaugurated the mass protest held in front of the secretariat as part of the nationwide against Sangh propaganda, said the Kummanam Rajashekharan’s Janaraksha yatra was aimed at triggering violence in Kannur. However, the yatra has fizzled out if the peoples response is any indication. The Sangh attack on Kerala unleashed by Amit Shah and Yogi Adityanath too had backfired, he added.

Stung by the lukewarm response of the people the BJP RSS is trying to hit back with violence. “RSS propaganda needs to be countered at any cost. We cannot surrender before them. By silencing everyone the RSS wants to create a community which meekly submits to their diktat,” Kodiyeri said. The CPM leader said Kerala had always been in the forefront to oppose RSS hate agenda. Kerala is grabbing national attention because of its strong secular fabric, respect for each other irrespective of religious differences, political freedom and harmony,” he added.

Kodiyeri said in BJP ruled states the minorities and dalits were being targeted in the name of religious symbols, clothing and choice of food. People are lynched for eating beef, dalits are attacked for sporting moustaches and intellectuals are being shot dead for airing their opinion. CPM said there was total crisis in the farm, industrial and unorganised sectors. Workers are losing jobs, PSU’s are being closed down or sold out to private parties. In order to divert people's attention from their 'anti poor' policies, the BJP-RSS was creating communal polarisation.

The party said in Tripura the Sangh Parviar had unleashed violence recently to grab power. Chief minister Manik Sarkar’s house was gheraoed with the intention of inviting police action and then portray it as complete failure of law and order. They want to oust elected government and impose remote controlled rule from Delhi. CPM held similar protests at all district headquarters.
