KCR to pay tributes to Chakali Ailamma on her death anniversary

HYDERABAD: Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao on Saturday paid rich tributes to Chakali Ailamma, who played a key role in the Telangana armed struggle. on the occasion of her death anniversary on September 10.

In a message, Chandrashekar Rao said Ailamma’s courage in taking on the then rulers was an inspiration for the statehood movement which resulted in the formation of Telangana state.

Ailamma’s birth and death anniversaries are observed officially by the state government, and the government pays tributes to her services to the downtrodden, for whose welfare and development, the present state government introduced several programmes and schemes.

Ailamma, whose surname was Chityala, is better known by the Chakali prefix as she hailed from the Rajaka community.
