Telangana plans to set up new film institute
Hyderabad: The Telangana government has decided to set up a film institute with global standards in the state. It has also decided to permit construction of new 200-member capacity smaller theatres, change the name of Nandi Film/TV awards, single window permission for film shoots within one week from the date of application and theatres to screen five shows for low budget film among others.
According to minister for animal husbandry and cinematography Srinivas Yadav, “Chief Minister K, Chandrasekhar Rao has suggested construction of international film institute, convention centre under build-operate-and- transfer scheme. He wants to give a big push to film industry.” For the construction of the film institute, the government will earmark 100 acres.
